Family

I'm very lucky because everyone in my family has been very supportive during all of this. Everyone understands and everyone makes everything they can to help me get back on my feet. I think that's very important. It's important that you have a strong support at home because that means you can focus on getting better and work on all your problems because you know that when you will always have someone that will catch you if things don't go the way they should. If you fall again you'll have someone there that will give everything they can to help you get back to your feet. And that is a precious thing.

My mom and dad do everything they can to support me. When I'm in Porto they call me everyday to check on me. They always know when I'm not okay and sometimes I don't want to worry them with my problems but they can always tell when I'm not telling everything, when I'm being evasive. And I know I can tell them everything. I know that no matter what I do they will always be there for me. They might not agree with all of my decisions but they will always have my back. And I'm so thankful for that. Thankful for them. I am. 

My brother has been amazing. I don't know if he knows the support he gives me. He and his girlfriend have been a very good company in Porto. They invite me to go to concerts, theatre, comedy shows or just to hang out. And even when we can't be together they always check on me to see how I'm doing. And I know I can always count on them when I'm having a bad day. Even if it's only to talk. 

All of my family has been amazing. My aunt and uncle received me in their home in Rome with open arms and during the time I stayed there they were amazing and they gave me so much support. All of my cousins have been great. They constantly send me messages, take me out to dinner, to have drinks and to talk. 

I know I just have to be thankful for the amazing family that I have. It's not perfect, because no family is perfect, but it's in the bad times that you see who's really on your side and who will always have your back. And I know that mine has. And for that I am thankful. Very thankful.
